Government Apps

According to a news release on Monday, the US Government will begin offering “cloud computing” to its various agencies in the near future.

The main reasons cited for this move by the US Government is too become more efficient with technology resources (e.g. pooling resources), reduce costs, improve speed and performance of web sites. It will focus on security of the information, privacy of individuals and agencies, and procurement or collection and maintainability of its information.

The web site includes a short video describing the function and purpose of cloud computing.
